Terms of use
Version dated 26 July 2026, effective 26 July 2026.
Publisher and acceptance
Auto Threads is managed personally by Christopher Calcoen, known by the pseudonym Arcoz. Auto Threads is not a company.
Contacts: legal-auto-thread@arcoz.dev for general or legal questions, privacy-auto-thread@arcoz.dev for personal data, and abuse-auto-thread@arcoz.dev for abuse reports.
By installing or configuring the bot, an administrator confirms that they are authorized to act for the Discord server and accepts these terms. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Beta service
Auto Threads automatically creates Discord threads under the rule configured for each channel. The beta offers only Author Name and URL Title modes.
Beta Premium may be manually granted or revoked. In the current implementation, this grant only provides unlimited active channels; no AI feature exists yet to be enabled. It is free and is not a paid subscription. Pricing and billing terms will be added before any Stripe integration.
Server administrator responsibility
The administrator is responsible for:
- having authority to install the bot and configure channels;
- selecting suitable settings, limiting permissions, and monitoring automations;
- clearly informing members that messages may trigger a thread and, in URL mode, a request to the first linked website;
- complying with Discord rules, applicable law, copyright, privacy, and server rules;
- handling reports and abuse involving content or members in their server;
- not using the service to harass, conduct covert monitoring, bypass security, distribute unlawful content, generate abusive requests, or disrupt the service.
Administrators must not present Auto Threads as guaranteeing the legality or moderation of their server. This allocation does not remove any statutory duty belonging to the Auto Threads manager.
Artificial intelligence
AI has not been implemented yet. It may be added during or after the beta once the technical, contractual, and privacy requirements are met. Before enabling it, the administrator must:
- visibly and accessibly tell members what data is sent, for what purpose, and to which provider;
- confirm the current privacy policy and AI notice;
- honor individual opt-outs and provide a non-AI fallback;
- never use it for a decision with legal or similarly significant effects on a person;
- obtain any additional authorization required by the context or law.
Availability and changes
The service is supplied as a beta without an uptime or continuous-retention commitment. Maintenance, Discord limitations, API changes, network incidents, or security measures may interrupt or change it. Features may evolve or be withdrawn, with reasonable notice where practical.
Suspension
Access may be limited or suspended for abuse, security risk, legal orders, breach of these terms, or disproportionate impact on the service. Urgent cases may require immediate suspension.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, Auto Threads is not responsible for server content, administrator configuration, moderation decisions, linked websites, or outages attributable to Discord or another external provider.
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be limited, including intentional misconduct or gross negligence. For other direct damage relating to the free beta, liability is limited to the amount actually paid for the service in the previous twelve months, which is zero where no payment was made, subject to mandatory law.
Ending use
An administrator may stop using the service by removing the bot. The server becomes immediately unavailable and its data is deleted after the recovery period in the privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to mandatory rules including consumer protections. Courts at the manager’s domicile have jurisdiction unless mandatory jurisdiction requires another forum.
