First configuration
Configure a new channel with the guided three-step assistant.
Open the panel
Run this command in Discord:
/config setupThe setup assistant is separate from /config autothread, which only manages existing configurations.
Configure a channel
- Select the text channel to configure.
- Choose the creation filter: Any message, Non-empty text, URL, or Media. The summary immediately lists accepted messages, rejected messages, and available settings.
- Review the summary and continue to the final options: initial naming rules, renaming, bots/webhooks, and accepted sources for Media.
- Submit the modal.
The configuration is created and enabled only at the final step.
Active channels during beta
Active channels are currently unlimited by default. This policy may change: Auto Threads does not guarantee that free access will remain unlimited. Any future limit will be announced and documented before it takes effect.
Send a matching message in the channel. The bot creates a public thread and posts a short message showing which filter was used.
