Data and retention
Understand which data Auto Threads uses, how long it is kept, and which safeguards apply.
Message content
Auto Threads uses only the content needed to apply the channel rule and create the thread, all in memory. Messages, URLs, titles, filenames, and attachments are not added to logs or telemetry.
Media attachments are never downloaded. Their MIME type, filename, and previews already provided by Discord are used only to decide whether they are accepted and to choose a title.
URL titles
The first HTTP or HTTPS link is fetched in memory with limits on time, size, redirects, and content type. Private, local, and reserved addresses are blocked. No cookie, Discord identifier, or authorization header is sent to the remote site.
Retention
- technical thread traces and the author’s pseudonymized fingerprint: 30 days;
- deleted channel configuration: restorable for 30 days;
- aggregated daily statistics: 13 months;
- aggregated totals: while the bot remains installed;
- bot removal: immediate unavailability, followed by deletion after 30 days.
Delayed-deletion jobs contain only the necessary Discord identifiers, a due date, and retry information. They contain no message text.
